Tradies know that it pays to work smarter, not just harder. But actually putting that into practice is easier said than done.

Luckily these days there are heaps of apps you can use to save time and cut down on boring admin, so you have more time to spend doing the things that you enjoy. We’ve rounded up a few of our favourites right here.

Slack is one of the fastest growing startups, because it works. Slack users report having substantially less emails and more productivity. It’s a free project management tool that anyone can use to organise their jobs, and it works equally well on a phone or a computer. We use it here at goodwork HQ, but we’ve also heard from tradies that it works for them too.

A really clever feature is “channels”, which allows you to create a different thread for each job and then chat and share notes, documents and photos with the relevant people, all in the one spot.
